Objectives:
- To design packaging for energy drink six-packs.
- To create accompanying graphics that engage the customer.
Deliverables:
- A 3D render of a paperboard package for a six-pack of 12-ounce energy drink cans.
- A 3D render of a corrugated package for a six-pack of energy drink pouches.
- Graphics that align with Virginia Tech branding and aesthetics to excite the customer.
Challenges:
- Adjusting the angled cutouts of the paperboard package to fit the curve of the cans.
- Adjusting the perspectives of the background art to match the tone of the brand.
Successes:
- Improved a design concept by adding a handle and side panels, all without using a preexisting standard on ArtiosCAD.
- Created a strong brand identity by developing high quality graphics using Adobe Illustrator.
Potential Improvements:
- Improve the paperboard package's automation potential.
- Increase the spacing between the background graphic and the text on the main panel.
- Adjust the graphic to fit better on the cans.
